Manchester City

The brightest prospect in the City academy and already a member of Pep Guardiola’s senior squad at just 17. Blessed with excellent technique, skills and an eye for a pass, he already has three senior appearances under his belt. Guardiola recently praised his willingness to attack - even as his older team-mates shirked responsibility. Was named the best player at the U17 World Cup after scoring twice in the final against Spain to help England win their first title at that age-group. Has three senior City starts to his name.

Phil Foden

Only slightly behind Foden in the pecking order and another first-team squad member at 18 years old. Brahim is another No.10 but has been deployed out wide by Guardiola this season. Very quick off the mark, a good dribbler, and has improved almost with every outing this season, usually off the bench. Signed from Malaga despite Barcelona’s attempts to lure him, Guardiola showed the youngster around the Catalan club’s historic Camp Nou stadium while he was their coach.

Brahim Diaz

Close to the first-team picture, especially as City contended with injuries in January, Nmecha is unlikely to get a permanent promotion just yet. A tall, powerful striker who joined the club as a nine-year-old, he scored the winning penalty for City’s first team in the Carabao Cup shoot-out against Leicester City in December. His younger brother, Felix, is also on the books and both played together, and scored shoot-out penalties, in the recent UEFA&nbsp;Youth League quarter-final victory against Liverpool.

Lukas Nmecha

Signed from Valencia for €300,000 compensation at the start of 2017, Touaizi is rated as one of the hottest prospects in the City academy. The 17-year-old forward scored more than 70 goals in two years at Valencia and although all City youth teams play against older age-groups, Blues coaches had no qualms about involving the then 16-year-old in last season's U19 UEFA Youth League campaign. Eligible to play for Spain and Morocco, Touaizi is both tall and fast, able to hold the ball up as a target man.

Nabil Touaizi 

The 17-year-old is a pacy forward who has had plenty of minutes with City’s U18s, U19s and U23s this season, including a run-out against Rotherham’s first-team in the Checkatrade Trophy. He has also been capped by Wales’ U21s but is eligible for England, having been born in Liverpool. He was signed from Cardiff and is one of several City youngsters tipped for a bright future.

Rabbi Matondo

Given his agent is Carles Puyol, Barcelona were especially unhappy to see their highly rated defender leave for Manchester City last summer.&nbsp;The Catalans saw the 17-year-old as one of the best players in their youth set-up but the Blues&nbsp;are now benefitting from his talents; he is an&nbsp;elegant, ball-playing defender who arrived as a centre-back but has also been used in both full-back positions this season. He is already featuring against older opposition for City's U19s in the UEFA&nbsp;Youth League.

Eric Garcia 

Started the season close to the first-team set-up, having gone on the club’s pre-season tour of the United States and travelled with the team as third-choice goalkeeper, although Daniel Grimshaw is providing plenty of competition for that role currently. Muric, 19, is an imposing figure at 6ft 6in tall and he is particularly good with his feet, with Pep Guardiola joking with friends that the Montenegrin could even play at centre-back. Arrived at City in 2015 and signed a new contract last summer.

Aro Muric

The tall shot-stopper&nbsp;has proven&nbsp;particularly impressive in penalty shoot-outs. The 20-year-old has travelled with the senior City squad as the club’s third goalkeeper and trained with the first-team on many&nbsp;occasions, although he has not made a match-day squad yet. Not as eye-catching with his feet as Aro Muric but, like Angus Gunn who is impressing on loan at Norwich, could easily forge a good career at a high level.

Daniel Grimshaw

The grandson of not one but two City legends; Mike Doyle and Glyn Pardoe. The 16-year-old is the son of Doyle’s son Scott and Pardoe’s daughter Charlotte - the two met when they were toddlers and their fathers were City team-mates. Tommy&nbsp;is good on the ball and adds bite in the centre of midfield. Is already playing with City’s U18s and U19s and has captained England at U16 and U17 level. According to The Sun, when Doyle introduced himself to Wayne Rooney at City training over a year ago, the former United man said: “I know who you are…we all do.”

Tommy Doyle

An England youth international with Colombian heritage, Poveda, 18, has had quite the journey already, having had spells with&nbsp;Puerto Malagueno, Barcelona and Brentford. He is smaller than many of his team-mates but shields the ball from bigger rivals by cleverly using his body, and is not shy of putting himself about. A very good dribbler, capable of playing on both flanks.
