The £100m upfront fee and £16m in add-ons mark a club-record outlay and could break the British transfer record if all bonuses are triggered. The German sensation had long been tracked by Bayern Munich but made clear he favoured a move to Merseyside.</p>

<p>The Germany international will sign a five-year deal that ties him to Liverpool until 2030. Per <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/6428949/2025/06/16/florian-wirtz-medical-liverpool-transfer/" target="_blank"><em>The Athletic</em></a>, the 22-year-old is due to arrive in England later this week and will undergo his medical on Friday.</p>
