<p>It has been <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/ted-lasso-episodes/blt41e4c4c21170c744" target="_blank">two years since series three of the popular Apple TV+ show came to a close</a>. Uncertainty reigned at that stage, with a natural end point seemingly being reached as Lasso returned to his native United States from an eventful spell coaching in England.</p>

WHAT HAPPENED?

<p>Speculation did, however, emerge late in 2024 regarding a potential revival. Title character and lead writer Jason Sudeikis went on to deliver the news that a global fanbase had been waiting for - <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/ted-lasso-life-changing-season-4-shoot-popular-character-unexpected-world-afc-richmond/bltd28da9d551cb7c66" target="_blank">Ted Lasso will be returning to streaming services</a> around the world.</p>

<p><span></span>The show is being taken in a different direction, as <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/ted-lasso-womens-coach-huge-season-4-update-jason-sudeikis-afc-richmond-return/blt6e6b8675cdd3b2d3" target="_blank">Lasso is now coaching in the women’s game</a>, with <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/ted-lasso-season-4-whole-host-new-characters-popular-character-confirms-afc-richmond-return-american-coach-womens-team/blt00c44431b8cd6327" target="_blank">new characters and storylines</a> ready to be introduced. They will soon be put down on film.</p>

THE GOSSIP

<p>Waddingham, who plays <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/ted-lasso-movie-in-space-roy-kent-brett-goldstein-season-4-questions/bltfbb2b6f82ebc2490" target="_blank">AFC Richmond owner Rebecca Welton</a>, has told <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EZKK56n161s&amp;feature=youtu.be " target="_blank"><em>Capital Radio</em></a> as cast and crew prepare to get cameras rolling once more: “We start shooting in July. We thought we’d mourned the loss, and now it’s rising from the dead!”

WHAT HANNAH WADDINGHAM SAID

<p>She went on to say of <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/no-script-ted-lasso-season-4-hannah-waddingham-jason-sudeikis/bltfdf059f3dc5999fb" target="_blank">those working behind the scenes</a> as Lasso moves into women’s football: “Our writers are literally Jedi Knights. They're just incredible. And we’ve got like a full room of real feminist men. So we’ve got all the fabulous women there, and the men that are in there, and I think you really see it in the scripts... it’s just so beautifully drawn.”</p>

<p>There is still no word on when the next instalment of Ted Lasso will be released, amid <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/three-more-seasons-ted-lasso-absolutely-admission-womens-game-american-coach/bltfec52d828cb0036d" target="_blank">talk of three more series being lined up</a>, but a loyal fanbase is being allowed to “Believe” again - with several familiar faces ready to return alongside some new ones.</p>
