WHAT HAPPENED?

<a href="https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/29938414/leicester-points-deduction-psr-premier-league/" target="_blank">The Sun</a> claims the English Football League has handed over their investigation into Leicester's alleged financial breaches in the Championship to the Premier League - who are 'expected' to charge the Foxes. After delaying getting charged last season, which then led to a transfer ban in the second half of their promotion push, the EFL are forecasting another 'large overspend' for last term in the English second tier. The Sun adds that the Premier League are expected to push for two points deductions as a result.

THE EXPLANATION

The charges relate to Leicester's financial loss of £215.3 million ($278.6m) between 2020-23, exceeding the £105m ($135.9m) limit over three years.
