Germany and Denmark's clash was marked by multiple delays. <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/germany-denmark-stopped-thunder-lightning-storm-players-safety/bltb826e95105f9da65" target="_blank">A thunderstorm caused a stoppage in the first half</a>, while <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/outrage-germany-penalty-michael-oliver-controversial-handball-var-rules-out-denmark-goal-euro-2024-clash/blt748fd22da2478330#csf76e8aa9313ceb0b" target="_blank">VAR intervened more than once to stunt the flow of the game</a>. Towards the end of the second half, referee Michael Oliver was urged to delay the game as a masked man had climbed the rafters at the Stadion Dortmund.

WHAT HAPPENED?

While there is no motive known for the man, he is reported to have walked along a beam high above the crowd, while fans shouted for him to come down, and Michael Oliver suspended the game. THE EXPLANATION

Police said, per <a href="https://www.bild.de/news/inland/em-2024-sek-einsatz-waehrend-deutschland-spiel-mann-kletterte-auf-stadiondach-668087a8ee755b2e7316f19c#fromWall" target="_blank">Bild</a>: “The police have now arrested the man. At no time was there any danger to other people. The police are still unable to provide any information about the man’s identity or his motive.”

WHAT GERMAN POLICE SAID
