<p>Errol Musk has confirmed that the Tesla and X supremo, who is worth £340 billion ($424.6bn), is keen to invest some of his wealth into the Merseyside outfit. However, Musk's father added that there are concerns that FSG will try to get more money out of the world's richest man if it came to a possible sale.</p>

WHAT HAPPENED?

<p>When asked on <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PX6vy5EwKfI" target="_blank"><em>Times Radio</em></a> if his son wanted to buy Liverpool, he replied: "I can’t comment on that, they’ll raise the price! Oh yes, [he has expressed a desire], but that doesn’t mean he’s buying it.</p><p>"He would like to yes, obviously. Anybody would want to - so would I. His grandmother was born in Liverpool, and we have relatives in Liverpool, and we were fortunate to know quite a few of the Beatles because they grew up with some of my family. So, we are attached to Liverpool you know."</p>

WHAT ELON MUSK'S DAD SAID

<p>Football is increasingly becoming a business and having a hugely wealthy owner is seemingly a must if you want to be at the top end of the sport. FSG have, arguably, done a good job since taking over from George Gillett and Tom Hicks in 2010, with Liverpool now reportedly valued at £4.3bn ($5.4bn). But Musk is worth 80 times that. If an offer came the club's way, they may have to consider it.</p>

THE BIGGER PICTURE

<p>FSG sold a minority stake to United States investment firm Dynasty Equity in September 2023 but it may be a while before Musk bids for Liverpool - who were ranked as the fourth-most valuable team in the world by<a href="https://www.forbes.com/lists/soccer-valuations/" target="_blank"> <em>Forbes</em></a>. And he may not launch a takeover bid anyway.</p>
