<p>The 30-year-old, who is the son of former Newcastle United star Rob Lee, was on his way home from the <a href="https://www.goal.com/en/lists/wrexham-wembley-dream-alive-tom-brady-birmingham-efl-trophy-final-bolton/bltb53a957219c3e9d1" target="_blank">Racecourse Ground after Wrexham's 1-0 win when his vehicle collided</a> with another car. Emergency responders quickly arrived at the scene, and both drivers were taken away for medical treatment. The Welsh club provided an official update on their website, reassuring fans that Lee had not suffered any serious injuries. However, the other driver involved in the crash remains under medical care for unspecified injuries.</p>

WHAT HAPPENED?

<p>In a statement, the League One club said: "Wrexham AFC can confirm that last night, after the Vertu Trophy match against Bolton Wanderers, a first-team player (Elliot Lee) was involved in a road traffic incident when returning home. The incident involved one other car and resulted in the drivers of both cars being taken to hospital. Emergency services were quickly on the scene and the Club would like to thank them for their prompt response and action. The player suffered no major injuries, while the driver of the other vehicle is being treated for their injuries. WHAT WREXHAM SAID

<p>Lee’s accident comes just weeks after his team-mate James McClean was also involved in a car crash near Wrexham Golf Club while on his way to training on January 22. McClean lost control of his black Audi, which suffered significant damage, including a smashed windscreen.</p>

THE BIGGER PICTURE

<p>Lee has been a crucial part of Wrexham’s incredible rise through the English football pyramid, playing a key role in their back-to-back promotions from the National League to League One. Since joining the club, he has made 134 appearances, finding the net 38 times. This season alone, the midfielder has been in fine form, featuring in 31 matches across all competitions, scoring eight goals and providing four assists.</p>
