<p>Carlos Cassinelli, the director of Forensic Medicine at the Scientific Police Superintendency, revealed details of the autopsy on November 25, 2020, the day<a href="https://www.goal.com/en/news/football-icon-diego-maradona-dies-at-60-following-heart-attack/1ib9vk5chgbiv1ldnhx2uonjxh" target="_blank"> Maradona passed away</a>. Cassinelli claimed that the autopsy found that the Argentine's heart was covered in fat and blood clots, which indicated that the legend died in 'agony'.</p>

WHAT HAPPENED?

<p>During the homicide trial of seven health personnel - a neurosurgeon, a psychiatrist, a psychologist, doctors, and nurses - who attended Maradona, Cassinelli said: "The heart was completely covered in fat and blood clots, which indicate agony. This is a patient who had been collecting water over the days; that's not acute. This was something that was foreseeable. Any doctor examining a patient would find this."</p>

WHAT HAS BEEN SAID

<p><a href="https://www.espn.in/football/story/_/id/44440962/diego-maradona-long-agony-death-forensics-expert" target="_blank"><em>ESPN</em></a> further reports that several witnesses have claimed that they spotted Maradona's face was heavily swollen.
