<p>The <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/video-dele-alli-how-hard-work-como-contract-serie-a-outfit-tottenham-goals-highlight-what-free-agent-can-become/bltd159a6a3cc02cd67" target="_blank">former England international signed for the Serie A side in January</a> and is yet to appear in the first team - but manager Cesc Fabregas has named him in the squad for Sunday's trip to the Stadio Olimpico, where he is likely to be a substitute.</p>

WHAT HAPPENED?

<p>Dele has <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/injury-ravaged-dele-alli-playing-non-league-football-warning-ex-tottenham-star-struggles-earn-new-contract-everton/blt386ba2bfd893c172" target="_blank">not made a competitive appearance for 735 days</a>, dating back to Besiktas' 0-0 draw with Antalyaspor in February 2023. He was previously heralded as one of the most talented English players of his generation and has 37 caps for the Three Lions, including a goal in the quarter-final of the 2018 World Cup against Sweden.</p>

<p>In July 2023, Dele was interviewed by Gary Neville for The Overlap, during which he revealed he had been sexually abused at the age of six and had spent time in rehab to recover from a sleeping pill addiction. He has since stated that he still has a desire to return to the highest level and <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/dele-alli-2026-world-cup-premier-league-transfer-ambition-return-everton-training-free-agency/blt123d00a86c108658" target="_blank">believes he can play at the 2026 World Cup</a>. </p>
