Newcastle manager Eddie Howe has been coy when asked about speculation the Magpies could move for De Gea but has confirmed <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/newcastle-david-de-gea-eddie-how-addresses-rumours-confirms-nick-pope-out-four-months/blt9edfcb29c9a3856f#cs9a3339385948f182" target="_blank">Pope will be out for four months</a>. Martin Dubravka will deputise for the time being, but the club could well move for a new goalkeeper in the January transfer window.

After spending the first half of the season without a club, De Gea will surely be hoping he can secure a move when the winter transfer window opens.
