<p>The Argentine lit up the chase stadium with a late <a href="https://www.goal.com/en/news/watch-lionel-messi-curls-in-magical-free-kick-winner-inter-miami-debut/blt558694d1a49da93b" target="_blank">world-class free-kick goal</a> on his debut as the Herons beat Cruz Azul in a Leagues Cup clash on July 21, 2023. On the completion of one year of Messi's debut for the American club, the David Beckham co-owned side celebrated the occasion. </p>
