<p>According to a report from <a href="https://www.gazzetta.it/Calcio/Estero/18-06-2025/spalletti-rifiuta-l-al-nassr-spunta-sergio-conceicao.shtml?refresh_ce" target="_blank"><em>La Gazzetta dello Sport</em></a>, Saudi Pro League heavyweights Al-Nassr have turned their attention towards Ronaldo's former team-mate in Conceicao to take charge of the team after failing to secure Luciano Spalletti's signature.</p>

WHAT HAPPENED?

<p>Following a trophyless season, <a href="https://www.goal.com/en/lists/cristiano-ronaldo-new-manager-stefano-pioli-leave-al-nassr-trophyless-season-saudi-arabia-cr7/blt5a374fd55fbb5352" target="_blank">Stefano Pioli decided to resign</a> as Al-Nassr's manager and has already returned to Serie A by <a href="https://www.goal.com/en/lists/italy-rejected-stefano-pioli-claudio-ranieri-example-turns-down-national-team-job-serie-a/blt08d74d051aa6395a" target="_blank">joining Fiorentina on a three-year deal</a>. Their hunt for a new manager led them to the <a href="https://www.goal.com/en/lists/italy-luciano-spalletti-national-team-boss-defeat-norway/bltc2854a36db78cf40" target="_blank">recently-sacked ex-Italy boss Spalletti</a>, who was <a href="https://www.goal.com/en/lists/cristiano-ronaldo-new-coach-sacked-italy-luciano-spalletti-al-nassr-stefano-pioli-fiorentina/blt6d5da85d6c143e2f#cs991a77be4fcefb5d" target="_blank">offered an eye-watering €54 million (£46m/$62m) package</a> on a three-year contract. The Scudetto-winning coach, however, turned down the advances from Al-Nassr, with Conceicao now the latest to be linked with the job.</p>

<p>Conceicao was most recently the head coach of AC Milan, but he was <a href="https://www.goal.com/en/lists/ac-milan-confirm-sergio-conceicao-sacking-agree-massimiliano-allegri-return-banned-first-game/blt60932646f45bef5d" target="_blank">relieved of his duties at the end of the season</a> after failing to inspire the Rossoneri to a Champions League spot for the 2025-26 season. Conceicao, a former Portuguese international, is enticed by the idea of reuniting with Ronaldo, with whom he shared the dressing room while playing for Portugal for a couple of games in 2003. </p>
