The World Cup winner has <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/lionel-messi-tearing-up-mls-record-books-inter-miami-superstar-history/blta709d54d6b6f30ec" target="_blank">smashed a host of records</a> along the way and currently has 12 goals and nine assists in just 12 outings for Inter Miami in the 2024 season.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Messi's form has led his good friend and former Argentina international Aguero to speculate on what might happen if the 36-year-old old and his Inter Miami team were to play in the Premier League instead of MLS. Aguero, who won five Premier League titles with Manchester City during his career, feels that with Messi in the team there is every chance Miami could beat the likes of Arsenal and Manchester City to finish top of the pile.

He told Stake.com: "I think they would win the league. They have Messi that is the GOAT, and with him, even winning the Premier is possible."
