<p>Lozano could be facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines after picking up a lower body injury for San Diego Saturday night in the club's home debut. Head coach Mikey Varas admitted that the team needed to assess Lozano on Sunday before offering a timeline.</p>

WHAT HAPPENED?

<p>Lozano was San Diego's big move ahead of their first season, <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-us/lists/hirving-lozano-mls-mexico-four-year-deal-san-diego-fc-psv-eindhoven/blt6793bc54e3a04fed" target="_blank">penning a four-year deal to join the Southern California side</a>. He registered an assist in his debut last week - with SDFC beating LA Galaxy 2-0 in the first game in club history. </p>

<p><a href="https://www.espn.com/soccer/story/_/id/44081222/hirving-chucky-lozano-injured-san-diego-home-opener" target="_blank">SDFC sporting director Tyler Heaps outlined</a> the situation following the game: "It's lower body, and something we'd like to do more scans on that will obviously happen tomorrow. What I can say is that he's in a positive mood now and we hope to get him back as quickly as possible."</p>

WHAT TYLER HEAPS SAID

<p>The Mexican winger will undergo further tests before determining how long he might be out for. His participation in Mexico's Nations League finals squad on <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-us/lists/chucky-lozano-raul-jimenez-highlight-preliminary-roster-for-mexico-s-concacaf-nations-league-finals/blt849e883f4a811942" target="_blank">March 20 would seem to be in doubt</a>.</p>
