The sale of the duo would reflect as a total profit in the club's finances due to them being 'homegrown talents.'

WHAT HAPPENED?

Since the takeover by Clearlake Capital in 2022, Chelsea have spent a staggering sum of money on players, coaches, and support staff. As a result, they run the risk of breaking the Premier League's Profitability and Sustainability Rules, just like Everton and Nottingham Forest, who have already received their penalties.

THE BIGGER PICTURE

The report suggests that Chelsea want to generate well over £100 million in additional revenue in their 2023-24 finances to avoid surpassing the league’s £105 million limit on allowable losses over three years. Since assuming possession of the London team in May 2022, Chelsea's current owners <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/big-business-mauricio-pochettino-reacts-chelsea-spending-1-billion-transfers-todd-boehly/blta70a632ddf1730c9#cs9b37e6c5ac58b527" target="_blank">have spent more than £1 billion</a>. The Blues have <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/completed-chelsea-transfers-2023-24/blt175698aca6eed99a" target="_blank">broken the domestic record fees twice</a> and changed managers three times since the takeover.
