<p>Per<em> </em><a href="https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2025/07/23/premier-league-heavyweights-transfer-spending-hits-billion/" target="_blank"><em>The Telegraph</em></a>, Chelsea remain interested in signing both Rogers and Garnacho this summer, from Aston Villa and Manchester United respectively, despite their pursuit of Xavi Simons. The Blues have already committed to spending £212 million ($287m) on new signings in this window, adding the likes of Liam Delap, Jamie Gittens, Joao Pedro, and Willian Estevao to Enzo Maresca's squad. They are continuing talks with RB Leipzig over a £60m ($81m) deal for <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/chelsea-xavi-simons-agreement-rb-leipzig-carney-chukwuemeka-talks-swap-premier-league-bundesliga-sides/bltcd3fac303ce21675" target="_blank">Simons</a>, and also have an interest in <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/chelsea-move-jorrel-hato-continue-summer-spending-spree-opening-talks-ajax-dutch-defender/blt58f0e51e7047f004" target="_blank">Ajax defender Jorrel Hato</a>.</p>

WHAT HAPPENED?

<p><a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/man-utd-slash-alejandro-garnacho-asking-price-gbp40m-interest-chelsea-aston-villa-spurs/bltb1da90a27f1c94cb" target="_blank">Garnacho has asked to leave United</a>, and would surely be a more accessible signing than Rogers at Villa, with the Midlands club <a href="https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-14926873/Aston-Villa-contract-star-Unai-Emery-Chelsea.html" target="_blank">reportedly </a>keen to hand him a new contract. Nevertheless, both appear to be alternative targets to Simons, <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/transfer-chelsea-xavi-simons-bayern-munich-rb-leipzig/blt856bf7a55f0f1f3b" target="_blank">amid reports that Bayern Munich are also interested</a>.</p>

THE BIGGER PICTURE

<p>Chelsea could raise more than £200m ($271m) in player sales this summer, with Christopher Nkunku likely to leave along with Joao Felix, Nicolas Jackson, and Carney Chukwuemeka. The Blues will probably move another midfielder on before confirming any deal for Simons amid ongoing negotiations, with Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall linked with an exit to Fulham.</p>
