<p>Ex-England international Lampard <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/frank-lampard-lands-first-job-chelsea-departure-ex-england-midfielder-ac-milan-legend/bltbe6c1ce051fb9a37" target="_blank">last filled a coaching post in May 2023</a>, as he brought a dire second spell in charge of Chelsea to a close having returned to Stamford Bridge for 11 games as interim boss in the wake of Graham Potter’s dismissal.</p>

<p>The 46-year-old has also spent time in charge of Derby and Everton. According to <a href="https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/coventry-next-manager-frank-lampard-34077380 " target="_blank"><em>The Mirror</em></a>, Lampard is being lined up to take the reins at Coventry – with Sky Blues owner Doug King reportedly eager to bring an "established name" into the CBS Arena.</p>

<p>Coventry are <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/chelsea-legend-ex-boss-frank-lampard-emerges-shock-candidate-take-over-roma/blt915eda55c80f361e" target="_blank">in the market for a new boss</a> after surprisingly parting with former Manchester United striker Mark Robins – who guided the club from League Two and into the Championship play-off final. Club legend Steve Ogrizovic has told <a href="https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/c4gxldk8lg8o " target="_blank"><em>BBC CWR</em></a> of that big call: "Very few things in football shock me but this is a poor decision. It's not a knee-jerk decision because I think this is planned and Doug King has got a plan in the back of his mind, although what that is I don't know."</p>
