<p>Ancelotti’s future at Real Madrid <a href="https://www.goal.com/en/lists/carlo-ancelotti-retire-real-madrid-future-not-interested-national-team/bltfe6ef7ee194f0f11" target="_blank">has been a topic of debate</a> throughout the current campaign. Despite his success in stabilising the club’s domestic and European campaigns, including a notable victory over Atalanta in the Champions League, whispers of an exit have refused to fade. Earlier this year, the Italian was heavily linked with a move to manage <a href="https://www.goal.com/en/lists/carlo-ancelotti-confirms-contact-brazil-real-madrid-extension-door-open-national-team-role/bltee3586ea630a9933" target="_blank">Brazil’s national team</a> before he ultimately extended his Madrid contract until 2026.</p>

WHAT HAPPENED?

<p>Recently, Ancelotti has been linked with a move to Rome given his ties to Roma run deep. He spent eight years at the Italian club as a player, transitioning from a young Serie A debutant to team captain and a regular starter for the national team. His tenure with the Giallorossi was marked by significant achievements, including the 1982-83 Serie A title and four Coppa Italia triumphs.</p>

<p>During an appearance on <em>Rai Radio 1</em>, Ancelotti addressed the rumours, maintaining his commitment to Real Madrid but leaving the door ajar to future possibilities.</p><p>"Claudio Ranieri is a friend and he's doing very well at Roma, I'm very happy and attached to the Giallorossi club, I haven't forgotten the years I spent there as a kid," he said.</p><p>“But there's a world of difference between saying and doing and I'm happy here and I absolutely don't want to think about my future."</p><p>However, he added: "The circle never closes in Madrid, when you win a title you always think about the next one to win. And that's a good thing, this keeps me motivated. I like coaching every day, it's something I haven't considered yet. I don't know if Real Madrid will be my last team as a coach. I have a two-year contract. You never know how long you stay… contracts can be broken but can also be extended!”</p>

<p>After a brief winter break, Real Madrid are gearing up for their first fixture of the New Year. They will face Valencia in an away match on January 3 as they aim to maintain their strong form in La Liga.</p>
