Blow for Chelsea! Antonio Conte's Napoli set to revive interest in Man Utd star Alejandro Garnacho as winger's price tag revealed

<p>The Argentine winger was the subject of interest in January from <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/alejandro-garnacho-performs-transfer-u-turn-shock-decision-man-utd-winger-closer-old-trafford-exit-amid-interest-chelsea-napoli/blt9ee951cd3b4301ea" target="_blank">Napoli and Chelsea</a> but ended up staying put at United. But journalist Cristiano Abbruzzese, via <a href="https://www.areanapoli.it/calciomercato/napoli-in-pole-per-garnacho-la-cifra-chiesta-dal-manchester-adl-vuole-accontentare-conte_590950.html" target="_blank">Area Napoli</a>, claims the Italian team have made the 20-year-old their number one target to replace Khvicha Kvaratskhelia - who <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/khvicha-kvaratskhelia-transfer-paris-saint-germain-napoli-marcus-rashford/bltdfab575f93ed08c2" target="_blank">joined Paris Saint-Germain</a> at the turn of the year.</p>

WHAT HAPPENED?

<p>The report adds that with United not being in a particularly strong position when it comes to the <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/did-sir-jim-ratcliffe-lie-about-man-utd-job-cuts-bust-by-christmas-claim-debunked-after-club-announce-plans-for-new-gbp2bn-stadium/bltb78b970f485a9737" target="_blank">Premier League's profit and sustainability rules</a>, the Red Devils may have to sell players - in order to<a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/man-utd-prepared-sacrifice-alejandro-garnacho-finalise-matheus-cunha-transfer-atletico-madrid/blt4b73dc71dce3ed0d" target="_blank"> fund their warchest</a> - this summer. And due to Garnacho being an academy product, meaning he will go down as pure profit on the balance sheet, United may be open to moving him on at the end of the season, with his asking price said to be around €50 million (£42.5m). Incidentally, a move to Napoli may be more appealing if Antonio Conte's men win Serie A this season, with his team currently top of the league.</p>

<p>Garnacho, whose contract at Old Trafford runs until 2028, has scored 10 goals and bagged nine assists in 52 appearances in all competitions this season.  </p>
