<p>According a report from <a href="https://sport.sky.de/fussball/artikel/umdenken-bei-bayern-abgangskandidat-kingsley-coman/13384627/34942" target="_blank"><em>Sky Sport</em></a><em> </em>of Germany, Bayern have backtracked on their decision to part ways with Coman this summer in the aftermath of their <a href="https://www.goal.com/en/lists/leroy-sane-bayern-munich-winger-explains-breakdown-contract-talks-galatasaray-transfer/blt644a77667979cab0" target="_blank">failure to tie Leroy Sane down to a new contract</a>. Kompany wants to count on Coman next season after <a href="https://www.goal.com/en/lists/leroy-sane-reflects-five-intense-years-bayern-munich-farewell-message-galatasaray-signing-mobbed-fans-airport-landing-istanbul/blt60c5b26862638e03" target="_blank">Sane completed his transfer to Galatasaray</a>, leaving the Bavarians in need of attacking depth.</p>

WHAT HAPPENED?

<p><a href="https://www.goal.com/en/lists/arsenal-bayern-munich-kingsley-coman-saudi-interest/blt041337dd074cd96e" target="_blank">Coman was linked with a transfer to Arsenal</a> in April, with the Gunners reportedly seeking to capitalise on the Frenchman's lack of playing time at the Allianz Arena. There were inquiries from clubs from Saudi Arabia, too, with Bayern keen on getting his €17.5 million (£15m/$20m) salary off the wage bill. However, Kompany demands his continuation at the club for at least another year, with the Frenchman tied to a contract until 2027.</p>

<p>Bayern's reluctance to offload the 29-year-old could also be pointed towards their inability to convince other targets to join them this summer. But they seem to have fallen behind in the race to land the Spanish international, with <a href="https://www.goal.com/en/lists/barcelona-closer-sealing-nico-williams-transfer-weighing-up-bid-to-land-hansi-flick-target-arsenal-bayern-interest/blt7fd5ec80d8c3aa71#cs0ee9b7a765e16414" target="_blank">Barcelona considered to be in pole position</a> to acquire his services.</p>

If the report from <em>Sky Sport </em>is true, the forward will likely continue for another year in Bavaria.
