<p>German clubs have always been known to stand up for cheap ticket prices, with most Bundesliga sides offering incredibly reasonable season ticket prices compared to teams in the Premier League. This rule also applies to matches in Europe and Bayern have now successfully boycotted Shakhtar Dontetsk's efforts to hike away tickets. After displaying a banner away to St. Pauli suggesting a boycott of the Champions League game in December, Shakhtar have now halved their original pricing. </p>

WHAT HAPPENED?

<p>Originally set at €52 (£43/$54) for standing tickets and €90 (£75/$95) for seated, fans going to the match will have to part with significantly less. Once again Bayern's protests proved fruitful when it comes to putting the fans first and they are now sure to fill up their allocation against Shakhtar.</p>

THE BIGGER PICTURE

<p>Shakhtar are currently playing their home games in Gelsenkirchen - a city in Western Germany - due to Russia's war on Ukraine. It means Bayern will have to travel significantly less when they face them in December. </p>

DID YOU KNOW?

<p>Although this instance has been singled out, Shakhtar are not the only club charging away fans ridiculously high fees to attend Champions League matches. The Bavarian's success may lead to other clubs kicking up a fuss as spectators are continuously priced out of following their club.  </p>
