<p>According to a report from Catalan outlet <a href="https://www.sport.es/es/noticias/barca/alarma-barca-araujo-bayern-vuelve-116843640" target="_blank"><em>SPORT</em></a>, Bayern are considering a transfer for Ronald Araujo this summer and have inquired about his situation at the Copa del Rey winners. There have been recent reports that the Bavarians are looking to sign a new defensive leader and are willing to let Kim Min-jae leave in the summer, if the right offer comes along. Araujo could be his successor.</p>

WHAT HAPPENED?

<p>This is not the first time that the Uruguay international has been linked with a move to Allianz Arena. Two times in the past, the winter of 2023 and last summer, Araujo attracted interest from Die Roten.</p><p>In January 2025, he was said to be <a href="https://www.goal.com/en/lists/barcelona-reject-ronald-araujo-offer-juventus-slap-eur70m-asking-price-on-defender/bltcaaf7e93ed97e90b" target="_blank">on the verge of a move to Italian giants Juventus</a>, but then extended his contract in Barcelona, which was due to expire in 2026, until 2031. However, the contract includes an <a href="https://www.goal.com/en/lists/ronald-araujo-future-barcelona-65m-release-clause-summer-transfer-window/blta41d7f71f4745c22" target="_blank">exit clause that allows him to leave in the summer for a fixed transfer fee of €65 million</a>. The clause, however, must be activated by July 15.</p><p>In recent days, it has been reported that <a href="https://www.goal.com/en/lists/barcelona-former-bayern-munich-target-afford-sign-summer-salary-limit-reduction-hansi-flick-closes-in-highly-rated-defender/blt7673bba530bff91c" target="_blank">Bayern Munich are discussing Jonathan Tah</a> from Bayer Leverkusen and <a href="https://www.goal.com/en/lists/vincent-kompany-desperate-premier-league-defender-bayern-munich-move-ahead-real-madrid-liverpool-former-juventus-star/blta21c3637e3a7fa44" target="_blank">Bournemouth's Dean Huijsen as reinforcements</a> for their backline. But the option to sign Araujo is just as tantalising for Kompany.</p>

<p>The report from <em>SPORT </em>further mentions that his current role as a part-time player under Hansi Flick could lead to<em> </em>a desire to seek a move and hand in a transfer request. Indeed, the 26-year-old has fallen behind in the pecking order at Barcelona, with Pau Cubarsi and Inigo Martinez entrusted as the No.1 partnership.</p>
