But rather than getting too emotional about his move away, Muller stayed full of smiles after his final <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/harry-kane-forgets-scoring-boots-again-bayern-munich-miss-huge-chance-all-but-wrap-up-bundesliga-title-der-klassiker-draw-borussia-dortmund/blt0aeb3b992107c6de" target="_blank">Der Klassiker derby</a>, joking with reporters that he could switch to Bayern's arch-rivals but Dortmund "won't send an offer".</p><p></p>

<p>Tributes have poured in for Muller since he <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/thomas-muller-emotional-message-harry-kane-co-bayern-munich-legend-confirms-exit/blt7b4de039e08842dd" target="_blank">announced that he would be leaving</a> the club when his contract ends this summer. In a message to Bayern fans, he explained that "the club has consciously decided not to negotiate a new contract with me for next season. Even if this was not in line with my personal wishes, it is important that the club follows its convictions." It's a huge decision considering Muller's immense contributions during one of the most successful periods in Bayern Munich history.</p>
