Barcelona avoided a potential banana skin on Tuesday night as they beat Porto 2-1 and secure their qualification for the knockout stages of the Champions League for the first time in three seasons.
Porto opened the scoring on the half-hour mark, as Pepe smashed in a rebound from a Mehdi Taremi effort. But Barca equalised within two minutes, as Joao Cancelo dropped his shoulder, and slammed the ball into the bottom corner from the edge of the box.
Cancelo was then central to Barcelona's second goal, driving down the left flank and finding Joao Felix, who finished coolly. Barcelona were chaotic at times, as Porto repeatedly found themselves in promising positions, but were let down by poor finishing. Inaki Pena made a number of important saves to keep the Catalan giants in front.
