<p>Hansi Flick has transformed Barcelona into serial winners, with the Catalans on course to win a treble this season. On the back of the team's impressive performances, it comes as no surprise that they would want to keep the German manager beyond his current deal. Indeed, <a href="https://www.mundodeportivo.com/futbol/fc-barcelona/20250501/1002455701/cierre-contrato-flick-vuelta-inter-clasico.html" target="_blank"><em>Mundo Deportivo</em></a><em> </em>are now reporting that a key meeting has been scheduled to take place after the Champions League semi-final second leg clash against Inter next week to address Flick's renewal.</p>

WHAT HAPPENED?

<p>When Flick signed for Barca last year, he agreed a deal until the end of the 2025-26 season. The club are now eager to ensure Flick extends his stay, although the former Bayern Munich manager isn't believed to be too keen on signing a long-term deal that ties him down for too long. It would appear that a happy medium has been reached and a contract will be agreed until June 2027.</p>

<p>A decisive meeting between Flick’s agent, Pini Zahavi, and Barcelona officials is set to take place between the Champions League semi-final second leg and El Clasico, which will be played on May 11. While a full agreement is expected, both parties will delay any announcement until Barca’s season concludes, aiming to avoid distractions.</p>
