Aston Villa have their Alisha Lehmann replacement as WSL side snap up Lionesses star following Swiss forward's departure for Juventus

Following <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/juventus-confirm-alisha-lehmann-transfer-boyfriend-douglas-luiz/bltf2156736ea619b50" target="_blank">Lehmann's move to the Italian giants</a>, following on from <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/douglas-luiz-juventus-medical-booked-aston-villa-brazil-star-five-year-contract-agreed-alisha-lehmann-join-him-turin/blta420e783ac86f582" target="_blank">boyfriend Douglas Luiz signing for the Serie A team</a>, Villa have swooped for England international Robinson. According to <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/live-blogs/transfer-news-live-latest-updates/KLq8uUYYXgMK/PXUa8jE3cjZB/" target="_blank">The Athletic</a>, the 21-year-old will join Villa ahead of the new Women's Super League season following the expiration of her Brighton contract at the end of June.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Villa are experiencing a big summer of change after <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/new-manager-alisha-lehmann-rachel-daly-carla-ward-explains-why-leaving-aston-villa-wsl-side/blt94c8b196db92d7c5" target="_blank">manager Carla Ward stepped down</a> from her role at the end of the season and, arguably, their most well-known player in Lehmann has left, too. Now, it will be up to Robinson and her new team-mates to try and improve on their seventh-place finish in the league last term.

THE BIGGER PICTURE

Robinson joined Brighton from Bristol City in 2020 and went on to score 10 goals in 69 appearances for the WSL outfit. She made her England debut in November 2022, was part of the Lionesses squad that made the 2023 World Cup final, and has five international caps to her name to date.
