<p>Chelsea are on course to grab their eighth Women's Super League title in the 2024/25 season as they are currently enjoying a seven-point lead over Manchester United and 10 points over Arsenal on the league table. Sonia Bompastor's side are yet to lose a game in the league in the current campaign and have 37 points after 13 matches.</p>

WHAT HAPPENED?

<p>Despite the <a href="https://www.goal.com/en/lists/chelsea-dominance-english-womens-football-naomi-girma-keira-walsh-signings-wsl-domination/blta33be9a8d2c319f9" target="_blank">Blues' terrific run of form</a>, Arsenal forward Alessia Russo is not giving up hopes to win the WSL title this season. She claimed that the Gunners are trying their best to give the league leaders a run for money and are hoping to win trophies by the end of the season. The North London side have reached the quarter-final of the Champions League by topping their group and have also progressed to the last-eight stage of the Women's FA Cup. </p>

<p>Speaking to <a href="https://x.com/SkySportsWSL/status/1890671787169505443" target="_blank"><em>Sky Sports</em></a>, the Lionesses star said: "I mean it's tough, obviously. We are realistic and we understand that there is a big gap at the top now. But we still pushing. We have a massive end to the season. We are still in the Champions League, we are still in the FA Cup and we are still pushing for the league. </p><p>"I think every game matters, from now through to the end of the season. Absolutely, as a club we want to win trophies, as a player I want to win trophies. So we know what we have got left in this season. We're going to be doing everything we can to it."</p>

WHAT ALESSIA RUSSO SAID

<p>Renee Slegers' side will be back in action in the WSL on Sunday as they take on arch-rivals Tottenham Hotspur in a North London derby at home.</p>
