<p>The Spanish giants are scouting the English midfielder and are weighing up making a serious bid to test Palace's resolve, according to the <a href="https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-14715065/Adam-Wharton-Real-Madrid-Barcelona-Liverpool-Manchester-City-Crystal-Palace.html" target="_blank"><em>Daily Mail</em></a>. Wharton has shone in the Premier League after signing from Blackburn and making the step up from the Championship - and his performances have not gone unnoticed with some of <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/manchester-transfer-battle-city-and-united-tussling-over-gbp70m-rated-crystal-palace-star-adam-whart/blt31b899f1202f9f39" target="_blank">the biggest clubs in Europe </a>are hunting his signature. Madrid are the latest to take interest.</p>

WHAT HAPPENED?

<p>Madrid scouts have been watching the midfielder and could see him as a possible option to bulk out their options in the centre of the park. The club have been linked with a last-minute approach for <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/arsenal-martin-zubimendi-agrees-personal-terms-transfer-real-madrid-barcelona/blt828e164e0da8776d" target="_blank">Arsenal-linked Martin Zubimendi</a> as well as <a href="https://www.goal.com/en/lists/real-madrid-sign-martin-zubimendi-midfielder-arsenal-agreement-xabi-alonso-man-city-rodri-chelsea-enzo-fernandez/blt36d2ec54785aff8d" target="_blank" title=" ">Manchester City's Rodri and Chelsea's Enzo Fernandez</a>. New boss Xabi Alonso is keen to add ball-playing midfielder to his squad and Wharton could be the man they stump up a large fee for.</p>

<p>Since moving to Palace, Wharton has emerged as one of the bright young sparks in the Premier League. Despite struggling with injury for large parts of the 2024-25 season, the midfielder is still considered a key member of the Eagles team that has made the FA Cup final.</p>
