<p>The Red Devils added Onana to their ranks in the summer of 2023. He has <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/worst-in-world-andre-onana-not-happy-error-strewn-start-man-utd-48m-transfer/blt44d75ccbb2939f6c" target="_blank">made a number of costly errors across two seasons</a> in English football. Questions have been asked about his future as a result.</p>

WHAT HAPPENED?

<p>United have spent much of the current window being linked with alternative No.1 options, with <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/man-utd-why-emi-martinez-transfer-success-uncertainty-old-trafford-goalkeeper-andre-onana/blt18d122180926a901" target="_blank">Emi Martinez and Gianluigi Donnarumma said to be figuring prominently on that recruitment radar</a>.</p><p>An <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/andre-onana-forced-out-of-man-utd-s-pre-season-injury-ruben-amorim-sign-new-goalkeeper-after-all/bltf0bc8c2a7fed1510" target="_blank">untimely pre-season injury for Onana</a>, which saw him pick up a hamstring complaint, helped to fuel the transfer rumours. There have, however, been no additions to Ruben Amorim’s ranks in the goalkeeping department.</p>

<p>Onana told <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=umAQCWDR0C4 " target="_blank"><em>Sky Sports</em></a> when asked when he will be ready for action and how United are feeling as a collective heading into the 2025-26 campaign: “I feel good, I feel great. It's been a few difficult weeks, but yeah, hopefully, I will be back for the start of the season. I'm enjoying the training with my guys, and we are looking forward. If we have a good start against Arsenal, everything is possible.”</p>

WHAT ONANA SAID

<p>Amorim has said of his goalkeeping options, having rotated Tom Heaton and Altay Bayindir during a tour of the United States: “I think even when you talk about Andre, you can see the goalkeepers. Even Tom is leaner, he's a different goalkeeper. Altay did really well, and Onana is going to be better, like the other guys, this year.”</p>
