The 21-year-old forward endured a largely frustrating 2023-24 campaign, with a pre-season injury setting him back while looking to build on a productive loan spell at Sunderland. Amad did <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/man-utd-let-amad-diallo-make-mistakes-regular-run-hungry-winger-46-minutes-premier-league-football/blt1c51cbadcac25c1a" target="_blank">slowly come into favour under Erik ten Hag</a>, scoring in FA Cup and Premier League wins over Liverpool and Newcastle.

WHAT HAPPENED?

His potential has never been in question, but <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/amad-diallo-man-utd-erik-ten-hag/blt157e857f3f03a079" target="_blank">a lack of regular game time</a> has generated transfer talk. According to <a href="https://www.hitc.com/manchester-uniteds-response-as-european-giant-bid-more-than-30m-for-amad-diallo/ " target="_blank">HITC</a>, a heavyweight outfit have made their move for Amad. The approach was given short shrift, however, with United having “zero interest” in discussing a sale.

THE BIGGER PICTURE

Rather than enter into talks regarding a move elsewhere, United are more concerned with opening discussions regarding a new deal for Amad. His current contract is due to expire in 2025, although those terms do include the option for a 12-month extension.
