Despite Russo now having made the move to rivals Arsenal while Toone continues with Manchester United, the two Lionesses stars have remained best friends and have also <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-in/lists/video-ella-toone-alessia-russo-new-podcast-lionesses-team-mates-georgia-stanway-chloe-kelly/blt8253610f0da6a4da" target="_blank">taken up a new podcast series with the BBC</a>. In the first episode, Russo revealed that she would like Toone to change one thing about herself going forward.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Speaking on the <a href="https://twitter.com/BBCSport/status/1784827678501024074" target="_blank">Tooney-Russo podcast</a>, Russo said to Toone: "One thing I would change about her? All I want from Ella.."Toone interrupted Russo: "Oh! You've never called me that before. You've never called me Ella."Russo continued: "All I would like from Tooney. I would just like you to be a tiny bit more open-minded when we go somewhere new".Toone humorously responded: "I'll take your feedback on board. I like what I like. That's why I'm still in Tyldesley".

WHAT RUSSO AND TOONE SAID

Russo and Toone have been a notable duo in women’s football, with a friendship that spans over 12 years on and off the pitch at club and country level. The Lionesses duo spent the majority of their professional careers with the Red Devils before Russo made the move to the Gunners last summer.

THE BIGGER PICTURE

The Man Utd midfielder will be in action with the Red Devils when they take on Liverpool in the penultimate matchday of the WSL, while Russo and the Gunners will take on WSL title leaders Manchester City on Sunday, May 5.
