As the search for his successor continues, U.S. icon Lalas says it would be a "pleasure" to coach the men's national team.</p>

<p>The USMNT are looking for a new manager as they try to build momentum ahead of the 2026 World Cup, which they are joint hosting with Canada and Mexico. Ex-Liverpool boss <a href="https://www.goal.com/en/lists/jurgen-klopp-rejects-u-s-soccer-usmnt-head-coach/blt26892c834a432226" target="_blank">Jurgen Klopp has reportedly turned down the USMNT's advances</a> and now France Under-21 coach <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/world-cup-winner-premier-league-icon-emerges-top-contender-usmnt-head-coach-thierry-henry/blt57dbd789e1f74bb3" target="_blank">Thierry Henry</a> is understood to be among the candidates to succeed Berhalter. Getting this pick right is vital to their chances of success in the future.</p>
