Despite having played at the Championship level for under two years, Palace felt obliged to pay Blackburn's £22.5 million ($28.6m) asking price as they understood the potential of the midfielder. After just under six months in the Premier League, Wharton's talents also impressed England boss Gareth Southgate, who has <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-in/lists/immaculate-adam-wharton-england-lock-picker-euro-2024-impressive-debut/bltf966e6a7d7cbe3fc" target="_blank">added him to his final 26-man squad for Euro 2024 in Germany</a>.
