<p>Manchester City boss Guardiola<a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/pep-guardiola-drops-kyle-walker-bombshell-after-leaving-man-city-star-out-fa-cup-win-salford-city/bltd7167cead16517e2" target="_blank"> dropped a huge bombshell</a> in a recent press conference, revealing that Walker has asked to explore a move away from the Premier League champions. AC Milan have shown the most interest in the veteran defender since the news broke and <a href="https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2025/01/12/kyle-walker-man-city-exit-in-coming-days-ac-milan-swoop/" target="_blank"><em>The Telegraph</em></a> now claim that the Rosseneri are aiming to finalise a move 'early this week'.</p>

WHAT HAPPENED?

<p>New Milan advisor <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/ac-milan-kyle-walker-serie-a-man-city-england-defender-man-city/blt9b374e9040215335" target="_blank">Ibrahimovic is thought to be the driving force</a> behind the push for Walker and the former Sweden international is more than happy to hand the 34-year-old a two-and-a-half-year deal at San Siro. It is also understood that Walker will not just be there to make up the numbers, he is expected to push for a starting spot and wrestle the right-back position from former Tottenham man Emerson Royal or Davide Calabria.</p>

<p>Walker has recently been welcomed back into his family home with his wife Annie Kilner and reports suggest their marriage could be on the mend. A move to Milan would shake things up again and possibly provide an opportunity to turn a corner both on and off the pitch.</p>
